Academic Research Residency on Official Development Assistance (ODA) Analytics

Eligibility: All currently enrolled Korea University students (undergraduate or graduate, any department)

Team Size: 1–3 members

Application Period: July 28 – August 3, 2025

Program Period: September 2025 – February 2026

Stipend: KRW 6,000,000 per team (total across project period)


About the Program

The Development Futures Lab (DFL) is recruiting four research resident teams to conduct innovative academic research on Official Development Assistance (ODA) determinants, impacts, and policy linkages.

Selected residents will:

  • Use emerging technologies and underused development datasets
  • Apply methods such as machine learning, network analysis, and policy modeling
  • Develop original research papers and contribute to collaborative research with DFL’s base team and partners

This program offers students an opportunity to apply data science and social science research skills to global development issues in collaboration with UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC).

Who Should Apply

  • KU students with academic interest in development cooperation, economics, political science, data science, or related fields
  • Those with experience in research, data analysis (R, Python, Stata, etc.), or statistical methods are encouraged to apply
  • Students motivated to produce high-quality academic work with real-world impact

      – Expected Contributions
  2. CV/Resume of all team members
